NEHA CREDENTIALS EXAMINATIONS

Credendial Exams will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2008

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
To sit for the Credentials Exams you must apply to the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) and pay the application fee to them. Once you have fulfilled their requirements you will be allowed to sit for the exams. For details, phone Carol Newlin at (303) 756-9090 ext. 337 or email at cnewlin@neha.org. The following NEHA Credentials examinations will be offered at NMEHC-2008

Registered Environmental Health Specialist/Registered Sanitarian (REHS/RS).

This is the premier credential available to environmental health field professionals. The exam covers General Environmental Health, Statutes and Regulations, Food Protection, Potable Water, Wastewater, Solid and Hazardous Waste, Hazardous Materials, Zoonoses, Vectors, Pests and Weeds, Radiation Protection, Occupational Safety and Health, Air Quality and Environmental Noise, Housing Sanitation and Safety, Institutions and Licensed Establishments, Swimming Pools and Recreational Facilities, and Disaster Sanitation.

Certified Food Safety Professional (CFSP)

This is designed for individuals within the public and private sectors whose primary responsibility is the protection and safety of food. The exam integrates food microbiology, HACCP principles and regulatory requirements into questions that test problem solving skills and knowledge expertise.

Certified Environmental Health Technician (CEHT)

The CEHT is for individuals who are interested in field intensive environmental health activities – such as testing, sampling and inspections, and who are required to provide information on safe environmental health practices and to eliminate environmental health hazards. The exam covers Housing, Waste/Wastewater, Air Pollution, Solid Wastes, Radiation Health, Milk and Food, Occupational Health, Vector Control, Community Noise, and Epidemiology.
