NMEHC GOALS

From the beginning, NMEHC has adhered to two major goals. The first is to provide the finest professional development courses and the latest cutting edge technology to individuals and organizations at an affordable registration fee. This has allowed people to attend who could never afford the much more expensive national conferences of this quality. NMEHC is primarily financed by sponsorships and by exhibitor fees. The quality of the presentations and training are as good or better than any similar national conference.

NMEHC also provides funding for college scholarships for deserving high school students. This has increased every year since the conference began.

The second goal is to bring together people and organizations from as many diverse backgrounds as possible and to foster lasting partnerships in solving environmental health problems facing the entire community. Attendees, exhibitors, and presenters come from federal, state, local and tribal governmental agencies, private businesses of all types, universities and high schools, research and analytical laboratories, professional associations, hospitals and clinics, and a variety of community organizations.

Conference attendees include government regulators, scientists, environmental and public health professionals, elected officials, engineers, educators, students, technicians, ranchers, farmers, water system operators, food service providers, wastewater systems installers, real estate developers, consultants, well drillers, geologists, hydrologists, military personnel, attorneys, medical personnel, fire and police departments, the media, tribal and community leaders, and many more.
