Describing Powerful Women in the Workplace
It's difficult to find the right words to describe female role models. Frequently, the adjectives used for men, such as "aggressive", have different connotations when applied to the female gender. An aggressive businessman is seen as a hard worker, a strong negotiator, and an asset. An aggressive woman is demanding or even "forward." A man who is "all business" is perceived as dedicated to their work life, while using this description on a woman has an underlining implication of the unfeminine. Even describing a woman as "strong" sometimes implies that they are less than womanly.
It is possible to purge negative connotations when describing strong women. Without offending anyone, powerful women can be described as dedicated, hard working, leaders, pillars of a business or community. Women can be described as an authority or an expert, as well. Being cautious with adjectives can make female executives much more comfortable at work.
World Dictators
Let’s look at some of the most infamous world dictators in recent history; there have been many more and there will be many more to come.
At the top of the list has got to be Adolph Hitler. Speaking of resident evil, this failed artist from Austria became the German Chancellor, formed a repressive police state and started a world war that claimed the lives of 70 million people worldwide.
After overthrowing Libya’s monarchy in 1969, Muammar al-Quddafi promoted himself to colonel and sees himself as the king of Africa. He backs terrorist groups and is in part responsible for the bombing of flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland.
Kim Jung Il, now here’s a scary one. As his countrymen starve to death, Kim Jung pumps an endless supply of money into his country’s military as a buffer against the countries that are sending aid to keep his oppressed people barely alive.
