President's Message

The New Mexico Environmental Health Association (NMEHA) is currently undergoing an exciting period of renewal and transition and we want you to be a part of it! The NMEHA membership roster is in the process of being updated and we do not want anyone excluded. You can help us by emailing vljaramillo@cabq.gov and indicate:

Instead of our usual conference, this year we are offering a day and a half workshop on August 5th and 6th. We are also offering the opportunity to take credentialing exams on August 4th. The agenda has the information and registration for these events.

The National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) annual conference will be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico June 5-9, 2010 and we do not want you to miss any opportunities for updated information. This will also be a great opportunity to network with other environmental health professionals from around the country. It took a lot of work and negotiations from previous boards to have this conference brought to New Mexico. I think we need to show NEHA that as Environmental Health professionals, we appreciate the educational opportunity. We realize that government budgets are tight, however this is such a great opportunity that I would personally consider using my own funds to attend (I believe it is also tax deductible as a professional expense if you itemize).

If you have any questions or comments, please email me at the address above. Your participation and feedback are greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Louis Jaramillo, President
New Mexico Environmental Health Association
